I want to fade my lower back tattoos so I can get something else?
Do I have to get laser or tattoo removal cream?
1.A way to fade a tattoo is to use dermabrasion. Dermabrasion actually removes several layers of the skin by using a high powered tool (almost as sandpaper would remove layers from wood) to unveil new and refreshed skin. This means that your tattoo will be faded over time by lifting layers of your skin to get the the skin where the tattoo has never been. However, dermabrasion can be painful and usually requires anesthesia in a doctor’s office to perform the procedure. There are ads that promote do-it-yourself dermabrasion, though it’s not really recommended for safety reasons. Dermabrasion was mostly used to remove acne scars and wrinkles prior to finding it useful for tattoos.
2.The easiest way to cover up or hide a tattoo is by using makeup. Cover up and/or foundation can be used to cover a tattoo that you don’t want seen either for work or for special occasions. Start by applying concealer (or cover up) that is a shade darker than your skin color. Pat the concealer on lightly and finish with a compressed powder the same shade or close. Next, pat on some foundation that matches your skin tone and be sure that it’s patted in completely to blend. Lightly dust again with a compressed powder. This should help to hide the tattoo for awhile, but you may want to bring the make up along with you to wherever your going…just for touch ups.
3.If your looking to fade a tattoo, there are products available for doing this as well, although you need to be careful what you’re buying. There are many do-it-yourself tattoo removal creams and lotions on the market that work to fade the tattoo in a matter of months. Some do not work as well as others, but there are a few tattoo removal systems that do actually fade a tattoo over time such as Wrecking Balm and Nuviderm. Though some of these can be a little expensive.
