Getting An Angel Tattoo

Angel Tattoos

Angel tattoos are quite a common type of tattoo that people choose to decorate their bodies. They mainly get chosen for religious reasons and more often than not will represent something of significance to that person. An example would be the archangel Gabriel as a symbol of strength.

There are plenty of places online that you can go to, to find that perfect design. It’s important to take in the variety available as it may even lead to a few ideas of your own. Either way you can increase your chances of finding a cross tattoo that you really like.

Some people just have them as a general symbol of benevolence of hope and faith. There are plenty of options out there for you to choose from, sp all you really need to worry about is making sure it’s something meaningful and something that you like to look at for a long time to come.

You should also realise that after you have had it done, there are also a few things for you to consider too. Your artist took the care to cover up your angel tattoo for a very good reason - to keep air-born bacteria from invading your wound. Yes, as pretty as your new tattoo is, it is going to be sensitive and vulnerable to any form of bacteria or dirt.

If you leave it open and unattended it can become a breeding ground for all kind of terrible things. Your bandage should be left on for at least a few hours after it’s done. We all know that the excitement of having a new tattoo will make you want to remove it just so you can show your friends, but unfortunately your friends will just have to wait.

There is an exception to this rule though, if your tattoo gets covered with saran wrap or anything similar to that kind of plastic wrap. This can be extremely detrimental to a tattoo, so it should be removed within a few hours. You're better off not having any covering it rather than suffocating your new angel tattoo with plastic wrap.

Let it breathe for a while and then when you have a chance and it’s not so sensitive, you should start applying whatever ointments or covers that you purchased to keep it healthy and clean.

Your tattoo is going to take anything from 4-6 weeks to heal nicely. During this time you are may experience a bit of scabbing, itching and a little discomfort. It’s really not a good idea to scratch, even though the itching is a sign that it is healing. Don’t pick or pull at the scabs, it can cause permanent scarring and can disfigure the tattoo.

As long as you do what you can keep your angel tattoo clean and healthy, you are guaranteed a great experience, and you may even find yourself going back for a second tattoo.
