If you have decided to get wing tattoos as your first tattoo, you need to make sure that you are able to look after them until the whole tattoo has fully healed. Considering the process of getting one, it’s understandable that your skin is going to be left wide open to infections from bacteria. Once the artist has finished his work, you’ll be getting a protective covering over the surface of the entire tattoo. You need to keep that on there for as long as possible, preferably for at least 2-3 hours. After that you need to let it breathe for some time, while making sure the surface stays clean.
It is very important for you to make sure you clean your wing tattoos, as that will help you in preventing infections and poor healing. You will probably ask the artist what they recommend using, but their answers will vary; some recommend using anti-bacterial soap while others will not. The best thing to do is see which one gives you the best results and then stick to it. Your body will tell you what it agrees with and what it doesn’t. Another benefit here is that you also don’t have to worry about it getting in the way of the healing process.
A couple good products to go for could be something similar to Tat-wax. You can spread it over the whole wing tattoo to provide it with the protection and nourishment it needs to heal properly. Again you’ll get recommendations for various products, but you’ll find that some of the shelf medications will even work. It just boils down to what works for you, and that’s really all you need. Ideally you want to be finding whatever you can, to give your tattoo the best healing conditions; that way, it will still look perfect when it’s done.
Other than that, if it gets itchy you must not scratch it, no matter what! If you get any scabbing, don’t worry about it too much, just don’t pick at them or try and pull them off, it will leave scarring on your tattoo. Remember, it can take over a month to heal properly and as long as you keep it healthy and clean and you’ll be just fine. It won’t be long before you have nicely healed angel tattoos that you can eagerly show off to the world at the next big party.
